Some employees at Apple headquarters named Apple Park were evacuated after authorities found an envelope containing a mysterious white powder.
An incident report from the Santa Clara County Fire Department shows the fire alarm went off and a team in hazmat suits arrived.
Fortunately, then the authorities who were at the location stated that the situation was under control and the employees were allowed to return to Apple Park.
It's just that until now it is not known what white powder is in the envelope. Apple to its employees only said that the authorities did not find any hazardous materials in the envelope.
In a statement, Apple also said that operations at Apple Park had returned to normal and all parts had been reopened.
Apple itself will start a hybrid work scheme plan on April 11. Under the scheme, Apple employees would initially physically return to work one day a week, CEO Tim Cook said in a letter to employees.
But on the 3rd week, employees will come in twice a week. According to Cook, when the hybrid scheme is fully operational on May 23, employees will enter the office every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Meanwhile they are free to work from anywhere on Wednesdays and Fridays.
"For many of you, I know returning to the office represents a long-awaited achievement and a positive sign that we can interact more with coworkers who have an important role in our lives," Cook wrote.
"But for others, this may be a troubling change. I want you to know that we are very committed to providing you with the support and flexibility you need at this stage."
