Mobile phone manufacturers have started to flood the market with a new line of phones. For those of you who are interested in buying a new cell phone and selling your old phone, don't forget to do this.
Yes, right. You will of course have to wipe data and reset your phone to its original settings before selling it. You certainly don't want your Gmail account to be used by the buyer. So, how to wipe all data from old phone? Let's look at the following tips.
Before deleting, it might be better for you to move the data from the old phone to the new phone. The method varies, according to the cellphone used. After being moved, then the data on the old phone can be deleted. The method?
Go to Settings
Select System - Reset Options
There are four options. Reset WiFi, mobile & Bluetooth (these two options can be used if the phone has connection problems), Reset app preferences, Erase downloaded SIM, and what we use is the last option, namely Erase all data (factory reset).
Once selected, a choice of what data will be deleted will appear and the account used to log in on the cellphone. Select Erase all data.
If you use a PIN or other security method, you will be asked to enter it at this stage.
There is a confirmation page to do a factory reset. If you are sure, select Erase all data.
It's easy, right? This process usually only takes a matter of minutes. Less than 10 minutes. After all is done, the phone will restart, and display the setup menu like a new phone.
But keep in mind, every phone has different additional stages. For example, on Samsung or Xiaomi phones, you will be asked to enter your Samsung and Xiaomi account passwords before the phone can be reset.
Oh yes, if you want to be really safe, such as data that was once stored on the cellphone can no longer be returned, there is an additional step. That is you can encrypt the phone before it is reset. The method:
Go to Settings - Security - Encryption & credentials.
Select Encrypt phone
Then follow the steps described above to reset the phone.
