In recent weeks, a row of big tech companies such as Nvidia, Microsoft, and Samsung have fallen victim to hacking. Well, the brain behind the hack is reportedly a teenager from England.
As is known, there is a hacker group called Lapsus$ which in recent weeks has claimed to have succeeded in hacking and stealing data from companies such as Nvidia, Samsung, Ubisoft, Okta, and even Microsoft.
"Four security researchers investigating the Lapsus$ hacking group, on behalf of the company that was attacked, believe that a teenager was the mastermind behind the attack," Bloomberg wrote.
The teenager, who goes by the online names 'White' and 'breachbase', has not yet been processed by the authorities, and researchers have not been able to actually link the teen to any of the hacks claimed by Lapsus$.
The teenager in question lives in England, to be precise about 8 km from the University of Oxford. Bloomberg also said he had managed to talk to his mother for 10 minutes through the intercom system at his house.
"He has refused to talk about his son in any way or allow him to be interviewed and this is a matter with the authorities and he has contacted the police," Bloomberg wrote.
But Lapsus$ doesn't just consist of a teenager from England. Bloomberg mentions that one other member is a teenager in Brazil, and that there are seven unique accounts linked to the group.
One of the members of the Lapsus$ team is thought to be a very powerful hacker, which makes the research team think that their work is done using an automated system.
There is also the opinion of cybersecurity expert Brian Krebs, who calls Lapsus$ core members 'Oklaqq' and 'WhiteDoxbin', bought a site called Doxbin. On this site, users can post or seek personal information from other people to doxing.
