Crazy! Russian Suicide Drone Deployed to Ukraine

Ukraine reportedly received the help of a sophisticated suicide drone from the United States to deal with Russia, namely the Switchblade. But apparently, Russia was reported to have attacked first with a similar drone.

Ukraine's interior minister displays a damaged Russian KUB-BLA drone on a street. Apparently, the drone was shot down by the Ukrainian army before launching its action.

As quoted by us from News.com.au, Tuesday (22/3/2022) the Russian drone, which was introduced for the first time in 2019, has a wingspan of 1.2 meters and is flown with a portable launcher. It can fly up to 30 minutes with a top speed of 130 km per hour.

This drone made by a Russian company called ZALA Aero has artificial intelligence to determine targets and destroy them. He will crash into the target and detonate a bomb weighing 3 kilograms.

The manufacturer claims this drone has a smart detection system and can recognize objects in real time. The operation of such drones raises concerns about the rise of artificial intelligence-based weapons that can be very dangerous in the future.

"We're going to see a lot more autonomous lethal weapons like those drones unless more western countries start banning them," said MIT professor Max Tegmark.

He had long opposed the development of such an autonomous weapon. However, according to military technology expert Michael Horowitz, in fact such drones are not yet fully autonomous and still require human intervention

"The companies that manufacture the drones talk about their autonomous features, but often still involve human operators to maneuver them and improve their paths, which is not what the international community imagines," he said.
