Elon Musk Isn't Afraid of Russian Missiles Helping Ukraine

Russia is clearly not happy that Elon Musk through his company, SpaceX, is providing internet connection to Ukraine from the Starlink satellite. The Russian side has already expressed its frustration about this.

"When Russia implemented its supreme national mission in Ukrainian territory, Elon Musk instead came up with Starlink, which was previously declared purely civilian-only," said Dmitry Rogozin, head of Russia's space agency Roscosmos.

In response, Elon Musk quipped. "Ukraine's civilian internet is having weird glitches, maybe due to bad weather? So SpaceX is helping to fix it," he wrote on Twitter.

It is possible that Russia will target the Starlink satellite with anti-satellite missiles, considering that Starlink's internet connection has greatly helped the Ukrainian military attack Russia, especially with drones.

Responding to this possibility, Elon Musk said he was not afraid. "If you try to bring down Starlink, it's not easy because there are 2,000 satellites," he said in a podcast quoted by us from Futurism.

"That means, it takes a lot of anti-satellite missiles. I hope we don't have to test them, but I think we can launch satellites faster than they can launch anti-satellite missiles," he believes.

Musk said he only wanted to help in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. "I thought I could help in the war. I tried to take the most likely action to increase the probability that the future would be good," he said.

"And of course I sometimes make mistakes in this matter. I do whatever is most likely to ensure that the future will be good for mankind. That's the kind of action I take," concluded Elon Musk.
