Graphics Card Prices Drop To Be Cheaper, What's the Reason?

Recently, there has been an interesting trend in the realm of PC components, namely the drastic decline in the price of a graphics card or GPU, becoming cheaper.

This happens in various countries. In Germany, for example, the price of the RX 6500 XT from AMD has fallen to below the recommended average price (MSRP - manufacturer suggested retail price).

From the green side, there was a significant price reduction. For example, the RTX 3080 from Asus' TUF Gaming OC series whose price suddenly dropped from USD 2,299 to USD 1,499 in just one night. Yes, down about 35%.

It is not known for sure what triggered the decline in the price of this graphics card. However, from our investigation, Wednesday (23/3/2022) maybe the main cause is the change of the Ethereum system to proof of stake, which is scheduled to happen in June.

When this system is used, miners who use graphics cards as their mainstay may no longer be able to reap profits, especially if electricity rates are increased for miners.

The second factor that may also have an impact on the price of this GPU is the rumor that Nvidia will soon release the RTX 40 in 2022. Although it is not clear when it will be released, how much it will cost, or what its capabilities are, when the RTX 40 is released, the RTX 30 line should also be discounted.
