In the past, Instagram had a 'Following' tab, with this feature allowing users to see the activities of the friends we follow, such as knowing the posts they like. However, this company owned by Meta decided on this feature in October 2019, this was considered an invasion of privacy and many users did not like it.
After almost three years, Instagram is reportedly working on a similar feature that will allow users to find out what posts their friends like.
This information was first discovered by developer Alessandro Palluzi, through his tweet he shared a screenshot of how the feature looks like being worked on by Instagram. A feature named 'liked by friends' will appear in the Explore section.
Launching from Beebom, Instagram itself has not officially confirmed the rumors of this feature. Since it's still in the testing and development phase, it's likely that this feature won't be launched either.
But if it actually releases it, Instagram seems to have to make its features acceptable to users and not interfere with privacy. This is considering the previous feature has been removed because there are indeed many requests from users to be removed.
