Public from various parts of the world also flocked to show their support for Ukrainian citizens. Not a few also reached out to give help, because the slightest help would mean a lot to them.
Several Korean celebrities have also helped in their own way to help people in Ukraine, such as actress Lee Young Ae and idol-actor Im Si Wan.
On Tuesday (1/3), the Ukrainian Ambassador, Dmytro Ponomarenko, expressed his gratitude to Lee Young Ae after the actress made a donation of 100 million Won.
On his Twitter page, Dymtro Ponomarenko wrote, "We are very pleased and touched by the letter and great financial contribution of the famous Korean actress Lee Young Ae in support of Ukraine and the request to end the war as soon as possible! Donations will be channeled to the needs of the victims of the Russian aggression," as quoted from Soompi.
Lee Young Ae also gave her support for Ukrainian citizens through her official statement. "As a family of war veterans, I feel the horrors of war more deeply than anyone else.
I sincerely hope that the war will stop, and peace will be established in Ukraine as soon as possible, and I pray for the well-being and safety of all Ukrainian citizens."
Apart from Lee Young Ae, idol-actor Im Si Wan also reaped the admiration of the public with his 'unique' way of donating to Ukrainian citizens. The actor in the drama Run On rented out a hotel for a month so that Ukrainians could live in it.
On Friday (4/3), Im Si Wan shared a photo post in the form of an accommodation that he ordered through his Instagram page. He wrote a text message, "Hello, I've just booked a hotel for a month, and of course, I'm going to visit.
I hope that you [and other people] in Kiev will be safe." Im Si Wan's agency PLUM A&C also further confirmed that the artist also donated 20 million Won to the Ukrainian embassy.
