Make Proud! These 3 Dramas Have Been Invited To The Cannes International Series Festival 2022

 


Good and proud news comes from these three Korean dramas in 2022. Three Korean dramas have been confirmed to be invited to the 2022 Cannes International Series Festival!

The Cannes International Series Festival itself started in 2018, to highlight drama series from around the world. This year alone, Korea was successfully invited in the Korean Focus category, for three dramas, namely, tvN's “Work Later, Drink Now”, Watcha's “Damn Good Company”, and the drama that will soon air on TVING “Monstrous”.

“Work Later, Drink Now” is a drama based on a Webtoon. The story of three girls who are friends and enjoy going out for drinks together after work. Starring Lee Sun Bin, Han Sun Hwa, Apink's Jung Eun Ji, and Super Junior's Choi Siwon, this drama will air in October 2021.



Successfully stealing the attention and liking of the public, the drama has been confirmed for its second season.

Then, “Monstrous” is an upcoming drama that will soon be broadcast on TVING. “Monstrous” will tell the story of people who are lured by the curse of an object that is believed to not have appeared in the world, as well as tell the story of archaeologists who are chasing unheard of gruesome cases.


Written by director Yeon Sang Ho, who has had success directing “Train to Busan” and “Peninsula” and writing the OCN drama “The Cursed.” “Monstrous” stars Shin Hyun Been, Goo Kyo Hwan, Kwak Dong Yeon, Nam Da Reum, Kim Ji Young, and Park Ho San, and will premiere April 2022.


A remarkable achievement considering that "Monstrous" had been officially invited to international events prior to its release. Meanwhile 'Work Later, Drink Now,' has become the first OTT series from the country to be invited to the Cannes International Series Festival.

There is also Watcha's original drama “Damn Good Company”, a web drama that depicts the lives of employees in small and medium-sized companies in a comedic and detailed way.
