Mark Zuckerberg is passionate about promoting the virtual metaverse, even changing the parent name of Facebook to Meta. Most recently, he claimed that many human beings in the future will live in the metaverse universe.
In a podcast interview, the Facebook founder said there will come a time when the virtual world is so real and comfortable that users won't want to leave. Currently, this has not happened, but according to him, people are already dependent on the digital world in the form of screens.
"Many people think that the metaverse is somewhere, but one of its definitions is when an essentially immersive digital world will become the main way we live and spend our time," he predicts, quoted by the Daily Mail.
Meta itself has plans to build an amazing virtual world in the next 5 to 10 years. Not only the form, but also involves the senses of sound, smell and touch.
At this time, the Meta virtual world is still represented by a legless avatar. Later, the technology will be further refined so that it is more realistic.
Maybe someday, people will use virtual reality headsets when they wake up. Apart from interacting, it can also be used for shopping, dating, working and studying in the metaverse.
Previously, Facebook also explained about the meta world. "You will be able to hang out with friends, work, play, study, create, shop and more,"
"It's not about spending more time online, it's about making the time you spend online more meaningful," they added.
What will become of it, where more people are in the virtual metaverse than in the real world? Time will certainly answer.
