Twitter has just announced a message search feature in its DMs that allows users to search for chats or conversations by keyword. A feature that users have been waiting for a long time.
"We know you have been waiting for the option to search messages messages in DMs. Now you can use it in the search bar of your inbox to find specific messages using keywords and names," Twitter said as quoted by us from India Today.
With this feature, users only need to type in certain topic keywords, usernames, or group names that they want to search for.
For example, if you want to find a conversation where you and your Twitter friends are talking about a concert, you can simply type the keyword 'concert' in the search bar. After that, all the chats where you talk about 'concert' will be filtered and displayed on the phone/PC screen.
Previously, the search feature in DMs only allowed users to search for a person's name or group name. Now with the latest update it is easier for users to search not only contacts but also specific messages.
This feature has also been available on the Meta instant messaging platform, WhatsApp, for years.
Initially, when the DM search feature was first launched it was only available to iOS users for the first two years. After that, it was only launched to Android users last year.
