Netflix Acquires Boss Fight Entertainment's Video Game Studio

Netflix announced that it has acquired studio Boss Fight Entertainment, a video game company based in Allen, Texas. This is in an effort to expand its efforts to include games on its video streaming service.

Boss Fight Entertainment was formed in 2014 by former Zynga employees and has created several games for smartphones and tablets. One of them is Dungeon Boss which is available for iOS and Android devices.

This acquisition will allow Boss Fight Entertainment to continue to make ad-free games without monetization that will be available to Netflix subscribers.

It's unclear when the first Boss Fight game under Netflix will be released or if it can be purchased without a subscription to the streaming service. Unfortunately there has been no response from Netflix for further information.

Netflix has quickly stepped up its game content plans in the last year. Netflix announced its expansion into gaming in July 2021 by acquiring its first game company Night School Studio in September and globally launching its first game in November on the Android platform.

Earlier in March, Netflix also announced it would acquire its second game company, Next Games, which has created Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales.

A few days ago, the company Netflix revealed that three more mobile games will be released in late March, all of which can be accessed via a link in the Netflix mobile app but downloaded as separate apps via the App Store and Google Play Store.
