Nuclear Power Plant Burns, Ukrainian Foreign Minister warns if it explodes it could be 10 times worse than Chernobyl

As a result of the Russian attack, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine caught fire. Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, warned that if the nuclear power plant exploded, the impact could be 10 times that of Chernobyl.

"If it explodes, it will be 10 times bigger than Chernobyl!! Russia must immediately stop the attack," Kuleba said via Twitter, Friday (4/2).

In the midst of the fire, the nuclear power plant, which is said to be the largest in Europe and located in the city of Enerhodar, was also difficult to extinguish, because Russian troops opened fire on the firefighting team.

"Firefighters could not start putting out the fire at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. They were fired upon," the Ukrainian Ministry of Atomic Energy said in a statement, as quoted by Reuters.

"As a result of the enemy's relentless bombardment of buildings and units at Europe's largest nuclear power plant, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant caught fire," Enerhodar Mayor Dmytro Orlov said via the Telegram social network, quoted by Reuters.

He said that Russia's continuous attacks are a threat to world security, especially when attacks occur near nuclear power plants.

Ukrainian authorities do report that Russia is continuing to step up efforts to seize the nuclear power plant. Russian tanks reportedly ran over the road around the nuclear power plant, but were blocked by local residents.

So what are the actions of the residents in an effort to block the main road to the nuclear power plant?
