Elon Musk's company SpaceX delivered the Starlink terminal at the request of Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. At present, concerns about the threat of citizens of Ukraine losing access to the internet are increasing. Very reasonable, especially in the midst of the Russian invasion that took place in Ukraine.
However, who would have thought that this noble act made Elon Musk called 'taking sides' and being satirized by the Russian side.
"I warned him, but our 'muskophiles' say - he is the light of the world's cosmonautics. Here, notice, he has taken sides. I don't even blame him personally. This is a West we should never trust," said Roscosmos Director General Dmitry. Rogozin.
However, Elon Musk did not want to respond too much. He only replied in a short tweet.
"Ukraine's civilian internet had a weird outage - bad weather maybe? - so SpaceX helped fix it," Musk tweeted.
Musk's 'bad weather' tweet was in response to a Twitter follower's translated tweet about criticism from Rogozin.
Not only through tweets, it is known that during an appearance on Russian state television, Rogozin, the head of the Russian space agency, continued to criticize Musk for helping Ukraine during the invasion. Despite SpaceX's status as a civilian company, he accused the billionaire of taking sides.
In another tweet, Musk warned Ukrainians to be careful when communicating via Starlink. He asked to be aware of Russian military actions that are likely to target the terminal in the coming days.
"Important warning: Starlink is the only non-Russian communication system still functioning in parts of Ukraine, so the probability of being targeted is high. Please use it with caution," warned Musk, as reported by the New York Post.
The billionaire added that Ukrainians should turn on Starlink only when necessary. Next, make sure to place the antenna as far away from the crowd as possible.
Lastly, with the help of Elon Musk, Federov as Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, thanked Musk when the terminal arrived in Ukraine.
"Starlink keeps our cities connected and emergency services save lives!" cried Federov.
