Playing Super Mario World Record Breaks 1990, Finished In 41 Seconds

Matheus Furtado, this Brazilian national gamer, managed to finish the old game, Super Mario World 1990, very quickly. Recorded time to finish it is only 41 seconds.

"The fastest completion of Super Mario World (0 Exit), which is 41.022 seconds. The record holder is @furious_," wrote Guinness World Records, as quoted by us from official social media, Monday (14/3/2022).

This is the latest record, which he managed to break. Where the previous fastest time, perched at 41.350 seconds, was made by SethBling, a player from the United States (US) on April 29, 2020.

The man who is better known by the name of FURiOUS, is also known to beat his own fastest time, which is 1 minute 30 seconds, on January 30, 2017. With a score of 49 seconds faster.

Even so, as a Speedrun, the way he does it is not like ordinary gamers in general. Because it takes advantage of an error or bug. So the goal is to force the game to immediately display the credit screen, which indicates the end of a game.

"Turning the programming flaws in these games, into something useful, like shortening the time. That's what inspired me, to break records in this kind of Speedrun category," said FURiOUS.

According to him, the hardest part of exploiting this flaw in the programming code is getting Yoshi, the green dinosaur that Mario rides on, to pop the red shell in the right place.

FURiOUS reveals, it requires fast movement. Then place the avatar in the perfect position. Because if it fails, then the bugs in it will not work at all.

A little information, he is indeed a software developer. So, dealing with glitches or bugs, has become part of his work routine.

He hopes that people around the world know his story and find the motivation to achieve their own dreams. With a note that you have to be disciplined, practice and keep doing it
