Realme did not bury a camera with a telephoto lens in the GT 2 Pro, and chose a macro camera. Here's the reason.
In the Realme GT 2 Pro, there are three rear cameras used. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX 766 equipped with OIS and EIS, an ultrawide camera with a Samsung JN1 sensor and a macro camera with 40x magnification. Realme calls this macro camera with the name Micro lens camera 2.0.
There are no cameras with telephoto lenses in the range of cameras used in their flagship phones for 2022. What is the reason?
According to JJ Kwan, Global Product Marketing Lead of Realme, they chose not to use a camera with a telephoto lens because this would increase production costs, which would lead to an increase in selling prices.
He also said that the use of telephoto lenses took up a lot of space on the cellphone, because of its large size.
"As we know, the periscope camera with a large zoom is quite thick and takes up a lot of space on the phone body," said Kwan, in a press conference after the launch of the Realme GT 2 Pro, Tuesday (22/3/2022).
As a result, Realme chose to focus on using an adequate main camera. According to Kwan, Realme uses a 50MP camera with a flagship class sensor equipped with OIS and EIS.
He also boasts of the quality of the macro camera used in this phone. "Our micro camera technology is good and the latest," he concluded.
The Realme GT 2 Pro was first showcased in China in January 2022 and at MWC 2022 at the end of February. And now it's finally released online via Realme's YouTube channel.
The screen is 6.7 inches with Quad HD + aka 2K resolution, 10bit colors and supports HDR10 +. Because it uses an AMOLED LTPO screen, the refresh rate is dynamic 1-120Hz.
For the kitchen sector, the Realme GT 2 Pro uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G Processor combined with Stainless Steel Vapor Cooling Max to provide consistent fast performance even when the phone is being used by users for multitasking.
There is only one variant available in the market, namely 12GB/256GB, and it is available in Paper White and Steel Black color options.
