Korean dramas are one of the most popular acting projects among Hallyu Star fans. Presenting stories with various genres and starring top artists, the Korean drama series has successfully captured the public's attention.
Unfortunately, not all Korean drama projects run smoothly. Several Korean dramas actually tripped over controversy, unsatisfactory rating gains, problems with the actors and actresses, and other problems. The following are some Korean artists who canceled their appearance in dramas for various unexpected reasons.
Ahn Seo Hyun
Young actress Ahn Seo Hyun was set to appear in the drama School 2020, but unfortunately she was unable to appear in the drama. She was rumored to be playing the female lead named Na Geum Young, but then the actress was replaced by another actress, namely Kim Sae Ron.
Ahn Seo Hyun was reportedly involved in a conflict with the drama production, even some sources said that Ahn Seo Hyun's father's actions were the trigger. This is because if Ahn Seo Hyun's father is explained to have asked the production side for some unreasonable requests regarding Ahn Seo Hyun's involvement in School 2020.
Meanwhile, Ahn Seo Hyun's father himself gave a statement that the production for the drama had changed 3 times. Even when Ahn Seo Hyun's side asked for further details on the contract, the production side kept asking them to wait.
Meanwhile, the production party conveyed the reason for the cancellation of Ahn Seo Hyun who was involved in School 2020. According to him, Ahn Seo Hyun's departure from the drama had been determined through long discussions between representatives of the production party and Ahn Seo Hyun's side. The statement from the father was also considered a one-sided 'opinion'.
Kim Young Dae
Next, there is a young actor who also appeared in the School series, Extraordinary You, and The Penthouse, Kim Young Dae. The actor had been set to take part in the drama School 2021, but unfortunately that plan had to be cancelled.
Kim Young Dae's agency gave an explanation through an official statement regarding this matter. Initially, Kim Young Dae's side had signed a contract with the relevant production party and agreed to the filming schedule. Unfortunately, filming was delayed due to internal problems from the production side.
The production party also briefly explained that they would adjust the shooting schedule so as not to interfere with Kim Young Dae's other project schedules. And due to further internal problems which resulted in an 'uncertainty' at the time, Kim Young Dae chose to withdraw from the drama project School 2021 and terminated his collaboration contract.
Despite canceling his appearance in the drama School 2021, Kim Young Dae is also involved in another drama project with actress Lee Sung Kyung entitled Shooting Stars which will air in April 2022.
