SIM Card No Network? Don't be cloned

Has the mobile phone had no network for days? Even though everything has been checked, there is no problem. About what causes a simcard not to get a network?

In fact, there are many factors, there is a possibility that the SIM card is damaged due to the frequent use of hot HP. But there is also the possibility that the Simcard has been cloned by someone else.

There are three methods for cloning, namely AMPS, CDMA and GSM. According to Techlicious, the most popular method is the latter. GSM cloning is done by copying someone's HP IMEI number. IMEI is a unique number that identifies a smartphone.

In addition to IMEI, there is also a GSM cloning scheme with SIM card cloning. Usually, this method is done directly by connecting the simcard with a card reader which is then copied to the computer. Arguably, those who do this are definitely the closest people who often have the opportunity.

The following are signs that the Simcard has been cloned by someone other than the lack of a network:

1. No SMS or phone calls

Phone numbers can only be used by one SIM. So, if the simcard is cloned, you will not get an SMS or a phone call. Just check by sending an SMS to that number.

2. Receive an SMS from an unknown number

But you can still receive SMS, but there are unknown numbers that send it. There is also a phone track with an international number with a fee charged to you.

3. Message asking to restart HP

By restarting the HP, the person can take advantage of the time to steal SIM details other than the HP is not turned on.

4. Different locations

You are in Jakarta, but with the Find My Device or Find My iPhone application, the device is actually found in different areas such as Surabaya or even abroad. Especially if other unknown devices are found. Oops, it could be a device from HP cloning.

5. Cannot use the application

There are many two-factor authentication (TFA) to secure user accounts. This is good because it can strengthen our protection. The TFA code is usually sent via SMS to confirm that the person trying to log in to the account is actually the owner of the account.

But if your mobile phone or SIM card has been cloned, hackers or irresponsible people can get the verification code. That person can use it to access your account.
