The third-generation iPhone SE is said to be launching this March and starts at $300. If this news is true, it will be a serious threat for Android HP vendors.
According to leaks, Apple will dub this phone with the name iPhone SE 5G. This is the cheapest 5G iPhone model made by the Cupertino tech giant.
But do not expect any changes in appearance from the previous generation. The iPhone SE 5G has thick bezels at the top and bottom, besides that there is still a Home button combined with the Face ID sensor.
Even so, Apple made internal improvements to the iPhone SE 5G. Interestingly, according to analysts, this does not make the price tag of this phone high.
According to Loop Capital Markets analyst John Donovan, the price of the iPhone SE 5G will start at $300. It's USD 100 cheaper than the previous generation.
When the second-generation iPhone SE launches in 2020, Apple sells it for $399.
It's just that Donovan's opinion is different from the predictions of Wedbush Securities analyst, Daniel Ives. He estimates the price of the iPhone SE 5G will not change from the previous generation.
Of course, many hope that Donovan's prediction is right. And as said at the beginning, this phone will be a tough opponent for middle-class Android phones.
Even though it looks old school, the innards will be on par with a flagship Android phone. Because according to leaks, Apple will power its cheapest 5G phone with the A15 Bionic.
That is the chipset used in the iPhone 13 series. And so far only Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 are the match, although benchmark measurements have not been able to overtake.
If the iPhone SE 5G is really priced at USD300, will you buy it even though the design is old school or choose an Android phone that offers a more attractive appearance?
