The war with Ukraine is not over, Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to come to Indonesia

Russian President Vladimir Putin will come to Indonesia, if there is no plan. This was conveyed by the Russian Ambassador in Jakarta, Lyudmila Vorobieva.

The goal is to attend the G20 Summit in Indonesia, to be precise in Bali at the end of 2022. This was said by Vorobieva amid US and Western pressure to remove Russia from the group because of the attacks carried out on Ukraine.

"So far he (Putin) wants to come to the G20 summit. But it depends on the situation," he said at a press conference Wednesday (23/3), quoted from CNBC.

He then continued, Russia supports Indonesia's presidency at the G20. As previously known, Indonesia is the leader of the Group of Twenty, the G20. Namely a multilateral cooperation forum consisting of 18 major countries and the European Union (EU).

Vorobieva then emphasized that the G20 will discuss global economic issues, not Russia-Ukraine issues.

"As I said, we support Indonesia's presidency in the G20. The G20 has nothing to do with or discuss the situation in Ukraine," he said.

Indeed, the impact of the Russian military attack on Ukraine, made Russia receive a lot of sanctions from many countries. Russia also released a list of countries that are not friendly in this regard.

The Russian ambassador also hoped that Indonesia would not be affected by the pressures that would come if Russia continued to participate in the forum.

Quoting the Kominfo website, since the G20 forum was formed in 1999, this is the first time Indonesia has hosted it.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto revealed at the Press Conference Towards the 2022 G20 Presidency of Indonesia (14/9/2021), the government will carry out this G20 Presidency by optimizing the benefits for the Indonesian people in the fields of economy, social development and also politics.
