Realme is preparing to launch its first flagship phone, the Realme GT 2 Pro, on the market on March 22, 2022. This phone will be a weapon to change the image of Realme as well as bring Realme to be the number one cellphone vendor in the world.
Realme is currently known as a vendor that is synonymous with cheap cellphones. But Realme wants to let go of that label by plunging into the premium flagship market and challenging old players like Apple and Samsung.
So the premium market segment is very important for all smartphone brands, for Realme it is the same.
For us, the premium segment is our way to show our superiority. Trendsetting designs, cutting edge technology and also what we do differently is provide them at a reasonable price.
The market pool for the flagship segment as a whole is indeed much smaller than entry-level and middle-class phones. But this market is important for brand image and show its capabilities. Realme itself has set a target to become the number one mobile phone vendor in the world in the next 2-3 years.
The contribution of the GT series to Realme's sales in the market is only about 5% when compared to other lines. But when compared to other vendors, based on the estimated sales of the flagship, Realme is in the top three.
Flagship is also Realme's big mission in 2022. Not only by releasing the Realme GT 2 Pro in the premium class, but also bringing flagship features to middle-class phones such as the Realme 9 Pro series.
In 2022 the key word is flagship. Our targets are mid-range and high-end.
There is an internal target to have a 35% share. So 35% of sales from the GT series and number series.
