TikTok Tests Stories Feature, So Much Like Snapchat!

TikTok's experimentation with the concept of Snapchat-style Stories is still ongoing, on Thursday (17/3) TikTok launched testing the feature to a wider group of users.

"Currently, we're expanding trials that give content creators additional formats to bring their creative ideas to life," TikTok said in a statement to TechCrunch.

Unfortunately, TikTok did not reveal further how many users were involved in testing this feature and when the launch of this feature was officially presented.

With this feature, TikTok users can create Snapchat-style Stories with the same editing tools, effects, filters and sounds as creating regular content.

However, unlike regular TikTok videos, these Stories will not appear on your profile page or feed and after 24 hours the videos will disappear.

TikTok Stories also lacks the main feature offered by Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and Whatsapp because it doesn't have a scroll bar for stories from accounts that users follow.

Currently, the only way to view Stories on TikTok assuming you've been selected to try out the feature is to view the profile picture circled in blue on the video you're watching.

Tap on the blue circle and you will go straight to the user's stories feed. You can also see the same blue circle on the user's profile, and after that you can view the Stories.
