US suspects Russia is preparing chemical weapons to attack Ukraine

The United States as well as Britain suspect that Russia is ready to use chemical weapons in Ukraine. That was after Russia accused the US of aiding the biological weapons program in Ukraine without any evidence.

The White House Secretary, Jen Psaki, called the accusations by Russia, which she said were also backed by China, completely wrong. He considered this accusation could be justification if Russia wanted to attack with chemical weapons.

"Since Russia is making these false claims and China seems to be supporting this propaganda, we all have to keep an eye on the possibility of Russia using chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine," he said.

It was stated that Russia might use such unconventional weapons. Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry said they had evidence that the US supported a biological weapons program involving cholera and anthrax in Ukraine.

"Russia has a track record of accusing western countries of committing violations themselves. This is a bait from Russia to justify attacks," said Psaki.

Russia has also recently been accused of targeting Ukrainian civilians because of their slow movement in the country. There are even allegations that Russia has detonated a horrific thermobaric vacuum bomb.

The use, production and storage of chemical weapons is prohibited by international agreement by 193 countries. However, chemical weapons were used at least 17 times in the Syrian war, according to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

Russia has denied supporting the Syrian regime to use chemical weapons. Chemical weapons are weapons that use the toxic nature of chemical compounds to kill, injure, or incapacitate the enemy.

Chemical weapons are also categorized as weapons of mass destruction, although these weapons are different from nuclear weapons, biological weapons, and radiological weapons.
