4 Employees of the Russian nuclear company, Rosatom, have been released by the Ukrainian government. They bartered with other prisoners.
Rosatom is a Russian state-owned nuclear company. Reporting from Russia Today, Monday (11/4/2022) 4 of their employees have been detained by the Ukrainian government since the Russian invasion began last February.
They have now been released as part of a prisoner swap move and returned to Russia on Sunday. Rosatom's spokesman confirmed this.
"It is true that they have returned and thanks to those who helped free our colleagues. After a break, those who were released will rejoin their team," said spokeswoman Rosatom.
According to Rosatom, the 4 employees previously delivered cargo to the Rivne nuclear power plant in Ukraine on February 23, 2022. They were then detained when the Russian invasion began.
Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said the employee's detention had no legal basis. They bring essential materials for the functioning of Ukraine's nuclear power plants.
"The detention is a bad precedent for peaceful atomic energy and should be kept away from politics," Likhachev said.
