Android gamers are ready to get a pleasant surprise from Google. The reason is, Android 13 reportedly has new features that will improve the gaming experience.
Based on the newly discovered code in the Android 13 Developer Preview, this latest operating system from Google will have a new method named 'setGameState' in the GameManager API, as quoted from Android Authority.
This method allows the game to tell the platform its status and whether the game is loading anything. This method can speed up game loading times by prioritizing CPU usage and offering better performance.
With this new method, games can tell the system whether they can be interrupted or not. Game developers can also tell the system to boost CPU performance and not allow interruptions while loading resources, assets, etc. so that game loading times can be accelerated.
Many Android phone vendors have implemented various modes to optimize gaming performance and speed up game loading times, for example deploying more CPU and GPU power.
Google has also introduced many gaming features in Android 12. Some Android phones, such as the Google Pixel 6, now have a Game Dashboard feature that provides access to important tools such as shortcuts for screenshots, screen recording, Do Not Disturb toggle, and others.
In addition to the 'setGameState' method, Google will also give developers more control to create more attractive game graphics. If these features are really brought in the final version of Android 13, Android gamers can certainly be more pampered.
Google itself is likely to officially announce Android 13 at the Google I/O event in mid-May. Just like the previous year, this year's event was again held online and free.
