Earth Day, Apple Donates USD 1 for Every Transaction on Apple Pay

Coming to commemorate Earth Day which falls on April 22, Apple has created an interesting campaign for the sustainability of wildlife in the world.

From today Friday (15/4) to April 22, Apple will donate USD 1 to the Worldlife Fund for every Apple Pay transaction made at the Apple Store, through the Apple Store app, or on its website.

"For 60 years, the World Wildlife Fund has worked to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth." said Apple as reported by us from 9to5mac.

"Connecting cutting-edge conservation science with the collective strength of its partners on the ground, the World Wildlife Fund strives to develop and deliver innovative solutions that protect people, wildlife and their habitats." he continued.

This Apple Pay campaign is just a small effort among all the other efforts Apple is making to become carbon neutral by 2030.

Apple has been committed to protecting the environment by making every one of its products – how they are designed, manufactured, shipped, used, and recycled – free of a carbon footprint.

For Earth Day itself, Apple has announced the Apple Watch Activity Challenge. This challenge requires the user to complete a workout of any category for at least 30 minutes. Users will then unlock stickers that can be used in Messages, FaceTime and other apps.

"Let's move and celebrate the planet. On April 22, do any workout for 30 minutes or more to earn this award. Record it with the Sports app or any app that adds Health." wrote Apple.

Apple hasn't announced more Earth Day content on other services like Music, Podcasts, TV, Books, and more.
