Elon Musk's tantrum wants to buy Twitter and annoy Arab princes

Elon Musk caused a commotion because there was no wind, no rain, suddenly he wanted to buy all Twitter shares. The pros and cons also accompany the desire of this South African-born man who leads Tesla and SpaceX.

Elon Musk is indeed most fond of using Twitter to express his often controversial opinions. He has 82 million followers there. Maybe that's the reason behind the idea to buy it all.

The Tesla founder offered to acquire all shares in Twitter that he did not own. He offered the acquisition for USD 54.20 per share with a total company valuation of USD 43.4 billion.

"I invested in Twitter because I believe in its potential to be a platform for free speech worldwide, and I believe free speech is a democratic function that society should have," Musk said in a letter he sent to Twitter.

"However, since making the investment I now realize that the company will not grow or serve the needs of society in this form. Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company," said Elon Musk.

He also conveyed that this offer to buy 100% shares was also the best and last offer from him. Elon Musk's offer was met with mixed reviews. Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia as a Twitter shareholder immediately rejected it. Why?

"I don't believe that Elon Musk's $54.20 proposal is anywhere near the intrinsic value of Twitter in terms of its growth prospects," he wrote.

"As one of Twitter's largest and long-term shareholders, the Kingdom and I rejected Elon Musk's offer," he added. But of course the prince cannot be the sole decision maker because there are still other shareholders and Twitter leaders.

Twitter itself is also boisterous with various opinions about Elon Musk's offer to control Twitter. Many support him and think Twitter will get better under Musk's command.

"Bill Gates buying a lot of farmland is more worrying than Elon Musk buying the whole Twitter," wrote one netizen.

"Twitter decentralization is by far the most exciting scenario. Nobody could do it better than Elon Musk leading and opening up this future," wrote another.

But the voice of cons also appeared. There are those who think that the image that Elon Musk supports free speech and will implement it fully on Twitter is incorrect because the richest person in the world doesn't seem to like criticism.

"When I criticized Elon for violating Tesla employee rights, he blocked me. When a student was tracking his plane, he tried to bribe him. Does that sound like free speech?' write an account.
