The iPhone SE 2022 is Apple's cheapest phone that has recently launched, priced at around USD 429 in the United States. If it's even cheaper, the iPhone SE has a greater chance of tempting consumers.
USD 429 is quite cheap, but it still feels expensive for some people. Many Android vendors whose products are cheaper than that, with more features and contemporary designs, even though they lose in performance.
"Android phones even have the features found in expensive iPhones, such as a large 6.5-inch screen, multiple rear cameras and years of security updates," Cnet was quoted as saying by us.
If the price was lower, the iPhone SE 2022 would be even more competitive. But if you can't, maybe Apple can consider releasing a more affordable iPhone, for example the new version of the iPhone 5C.
"We'd love to see Apple launch a new iPhone that sells for under $299, possibly (inspired) from the iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5C is basically an iPhone 5 redesigned with colorful plastic," wrote Cnet.
"With advances in manufacturing and components, we are curious what the 2022 version of the iPhone 5C will look like. Can it cost just $199 with a plastic body," they added.
However, it is unlikely that Apple will launch a new, more affordable version of the iPhone. After all, the iPhone SE 2022 is already considered a tough opponent for Android phones in its price range.
The main reason seems to be about its performance which is called extraordinary. The A15 Bionic chip in the iPhone SE 2022 is exactly the same as the iPhone 13, which is much more expensive. This factor alone is considered a great value.
"This is an iPhone with the latest mobile chip from Apple, its performance is not much different from the flagship iPhone 13. That makes the iPhone SE 2022 a great deal and you won't find an Android device with the same processing power at the same price," Gizmodo said.
