Entering their 40s, most people will probably find a more mature life. Both in terms of finance, thought, and experience. If used properly, these things will bring them to the ease of life.
Meanwhile, in their 40s, many people experience the same difficulty, namely eliminating stubborn body fat due to hormonal and metabolic changes with age.
"As you get older, you start to lose muscle and excess body fat due to hormonal changes and a lack of physical activity," Vanessa Johnson, NCPT and director of instructor training at Club Pilates tells Eat This website.
However, you don't need to worry. There are still ways to get rid of stubborn fat. The trick is to exercise. Age 40 may not be a lively age anymore, but at least this light exercise can help you get the ideal body.
Swim
This sport is suitable for people who are overweight and patients with joint pain. "While it may seem very easy, swimming is great for repair as well as helping you burn a lot of calories without making your body work too hard," says Johnson.
This exercise keeps your leg, upper body, and core muscle groups moving, so you can burn stubborn body fat! Apart from swimming, you can also do jogging in place, squats, leg raises, and side jumps.
Pilates
This exercise is a great way to get back in shape and gain muscle mass and overall physical fitness.
"Pilates is best known for its ability to improve posture, which means it's very effective at building core strength, and the added muscle will help you burn more calories," says Johnson.
This light exercise is also perfect for anyone struggling with joint pain at the age of 40 or older. Every movement is also very helpful to be thin, especially in the abdominal area.
Brisk
Walking is the right choice for those of you who need light exercise but want to lose weight quickly. "Try adding small walks throughout the day to get your muscles used to engaging regularly," says Jessica Cifelli, MS, CPT, senior master instructor for CycleBar.
Make the exercise more intense by carrying weights, walking up an incline, or doing small squat jumps or body weight squats during the walk. You can invite a friend or partner to do this so that motivation is maintained.
Bicycle
This one sport is a great cardio exercise for people over 40 years old. "Cycling allows for adjustment of intensity levels based on experience and current health status," says Cifelli.
The higher intensity of cycling allows for increased metabolism throughout the day, says Cifelli. This would be the ideal scenario for burning calories even when the activity is over.
Yoga
Although there are no exact figures on how many calories are burned by this yoga exercise, yoga can be a great way to lose weight. The reason is, this sport has a lot of movement combined with breathing exercises to manage stress better.
"For optimal results, it's recommended that you exercise 3-5 times a week," says Zac Armstrong, NASM-CPT and master instructor for YogaSix. This frequency is chosen to keep you active and reduce stress.
