Russia reportedly lost many of its military assets due to drone strikes from Ukraine. They also try to implement new strategies to anticipate it, among them with a kind of sophisticated blanket.
According to a report by the Sputnik news agency, the Russian army has used camouflage material on its war vehicles making it more difficult for the enemy to detect, such as by Ukrainian spy drones.
"This camouflage is a synthetic material that is placed on top of equipment in the form of a cover. The material reduces heat radiation, for example, from a tank up to several times, so that it is almost in harmony with the environment," claims a related source.
As we were quoted from Eurasiantimes, Saturday (30/4/2022) the material was claimed to make Russian war vehicles more difficult to detect by radar. Its main use is to avoid detection from drones or spy planes.
The camouflage has been placed, among others, on missile launchers and T-90M Provy tanks. This is considered important because drones such as the Bayraktar TB2 or the American -aided Switchblade, continue to pass by and launch attacks.
Moreover Russian combat equipment on the ground was affected without adequate protection. Even before the use of sophisticated camouflage, many Russian combat vehicles were disguised in a modest way, for example with carpets.
Drones made by Turkish company Bayraktar TB2, for example, are capable of detecting targets up to 50 kilometers away. With the new camouflage, Bayraktar drones are certainly expected to be more difficult to track Russian asset targets.
The camouflage blanket was manufactured by Ruselectronics. It can make war equipment similar to the surrounding environment and structures because it is claimed to change color, making it difficult for drones to see.
"For example, if a tank is in one position and moves with a different background, then the layer will change color and structure to disguise it with its surroundings," the source said.
