Elon Musk through his company SpaceX, is considered very helpful for Ukrainian citizens. Why not, the Starlink satellite operated by SpaceX transmits internet to Ukraine so that citizens can still be online.
Not only that, internet access also seems crucial in helping the Ukrainian military, especially in operating combat drones so that they can attack Russia with precision.
Many Ukrainians also thank Elon Musk, one of whom is Alex Chubay as the Chief Technology Officer of a Ukrainian software company, Softserve. Alex works at one of the company's headquarters located in Austin, United States.
"Elon Musk shipped the Starlink device to Ukraine and as far as I know, it's already up and running and brings tremendous benefits, especially in areas where there is no internet connection," he said.
"So big compliments to him on behalf of the whole company and all of Ukraine. I want to thank him for the great contribution he made to help our fight, for our independence. Many thanks," he said.
According to him, with the internet from Starlink, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians can access the internet which was cut off. Elon Musk himself has been preparing Starlink services for Ukraine for a long time.
"We thought that Starlink might be needed and we prepared it to make sure it was available quickly. When the request came, we acted very quickly," said Elon Musk.
The Internet in Ukraine has experienced major disruption, even crippling, since the invasion by Russia on February 24. The reason, Russia attacked the telecommunications infrastructure in Ukraine.
