iPhone 6 users report that their cellphone can no longer be used to access the Twitter application, because their iOS is stuck on iOS 12.
Both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were first released in 2014, which were then discontinued two years later. Both no longer get iOS updates in 2019, which is when Apple released iOS 13.
Twitter itself actually no longer supports iOS 12 in early 2021. However, iPhone 6 users at that time could still use the old version of the Twitter application, as quoted by us from Phone Arena, Friday (1/4/2022).
But recently Twitter updated its application, and now it no longer supports iOS 13. So to be able to run the Twitter application, you need at least iOS 14.
That's why, even though iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users claim to still be able to see some of the tweets on their timeline, almost all features of the Twitter app will no longer work after the update.
Fortunately, currently only 2% of total iPhone users are still running iOS 13 or earlier. So there shouldn't be many users affected by this. iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (or older) users can still access Twitter, but must use the Safari browser on their iPhone.
iPhone 6 is one of the most popular iPhones. In February, Apple added the iPhone 6 Plus to their list of old devices, and the iPhone 6 should be on that list in 2023.
In addition to iPhone users, users of the old version of the iPod and iPad also reported that their devices were no longer able to access the Twitter application. Namely devices that are still using iOS version 13 and below.
