The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) in the UK warned of the dangers of using Russian technology, one of which was Kaspersky. Kaspersky immediately denied the allegation.
Kaspersky is a company that makes antivirus products or software. The company was founded by Eugene Kaspersky since 1997 in Moscow, Russia and has had a fairly classy reputation in various parts of the world, including Indonesia.
The ongoing geopolitical conflict between Ukraine and Russia has the world reacting. Most recently, the NCSC warned organizations to reconsider the risks of using Russian technology, such as Kaspersky.
In a written statement, Kaspersky was aware of the statements made by the NCSC to the public and provided his response. According to them:
"While we consider this decision to be made on political, not technical grounds, we are open to addressing any concerns customers and regulators may have regarding our operations and products in a completely transparent, open and objective manner, including through the Kaspersky Transparency Center operating in Europe," Kaspersky said.
Along with this, Kaspersky said it remains committed to providing industry-leading cybersecurity solutions to customers in the UK and around the world.
"We would like to thank the NCSC for its guidance regarding private users, and would like to assure our customers that they are safe and protected with Kaspersky, as independent tests have proven," he concluded.
Previously, the use of Kaspersky products was also discouraged in Germany due to the possibility that the technology could be used by the Russian government. For this, Kaspersky has also responded that the allegations are completely unfounded and there is also no valid evidence.
