Vivo has officially announced its first foldable smartphone. Nicknamed the Vivo X Fold, here are the specifications and prices for this Galaxy Z Fold 3 competitor device.
Vivo X Fold carries the same concept as Samsung's folding screen cellphone. It has two screens, which can be folded inside and out.
The outer screen measures 6.53 inches Full HD + with a 21:9 ratio. The panel used is AMOLED E5 with a refresh rate of 120Hz and supports HDR10+.
Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 3 which installs its fingerprint sensor on the power button, Vivo places it on the screen on both screens using ultrasonic fingerprint technology.
Talking about the screen, the inside has a stretch of 8.03 inches with a resolution of 2K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Using Samsung's LTPO2 AMOLED panel and SCHOTT UTG (ultra thin glass).
Regarding the hinge, which is the most important part of a foldable phone, Vivo says it has decided to build on a waterdrop-shaped solution, like the Oppo Find N. There is an integrated floating center plate made of the same material as a zirconium alloy that serves as the "frame".
It imitates the wings of a bird. When the phone is unfolded, the center plate will rise to "raise" the folds in the center of the inner screen, making the surface smoother, Vivo says.
And when the device is closed, the lower center plate also provides ample space for bent panels, making the phone more durable (TÃœV 300,000 lifetime certified). At the same time, Vivo has also used UTG and controls the bending radius of the inner screen up to 2.3 mm. This is better than the 3mm which is standard in other phones, the company claims.
Turning to the runway, Vivo X Fold is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with up to 12GB RAM, has VC liquid cooling, graphite thermally conductive sheet and thermally conductive gel. The VC plate is also extended into the battery compartment for better cooling. The phone also has an alert switch.
The installed battery has a capacity of 4,600 mAh which can be recharged quickly. Vivo is equipped with 66W fast charging support which can be fully charged in 37 minutes.
The camera is so tempting compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The main camera of the Vivo X Fold is 50 MP using a 1/1.57-inch GN5 sensor and equipped with OIS.
Vivo also installed a 12 MP zoom camera, a 5x periscope camera (60x digital zoom) and a 48 MP ultra-wide camera. The X Fold camera was polished by Zeiss by bringing a number of interesting features, including Texture Portrait, Motion Capture 3.0, Zeiss Super Night Scene, Zeiss Nature Color and others.
For selfie or video chat needs, a camera is provided which is mounted on the front and inner punch holes of the screen. Each size is 16 MP with an aperture of f / 2.45.
Vivo has also maximized the X Fold's folding screen. Users will be able to run two applications side by side on the inner screen. At the same time, users can run a floating window at the top for a richer multitasking experience.
Like the Galaxy Z Fold 3, this cellphone has a viewfinder when the device is folded in an L shape. This will make it easier for users to create content without the help of a tripod.
