WhatsApp Creates a Special 'Community' Tab

After rolling out the new voicemail feature for all users, WhatsApp is now reportedly working on a dedicated 'Community' tab.

Reported by us from XDA-Developers, Wednesday (13/4/2022) this special tab was first known at the beginning of last March and now more information has emerged regarding this feature that will be launched.

According to WABetainfo, WhatsApp will soon introduce a dedicated Community tab on the Android and iOS platforms. This feature will appear on the left side of the chat screen in place of the camera shortcut.

Based on the screenshot shared by WABetainfo, this tab will make it easier for users to access and track the communities/groups they follow. Users can also create new Communities.

Currently, this feature is not available in any version of WhatsApp. As usual with WhatsApp experiments, the feature will likely first arrive in WhatsApp Beta.

Previously, WhatsApp wanted to increase the file size limit. Currently, the app allows users to send files up to 100MB in size, but according to a recent report, the service will soon allow sending files as large as 2GB.
