While Huawei and Google have a bit of an issue, where their devices can’t use Google Mobile Services for the Play Store and other Google services-Huawei is still developing an AOSP-based Harmony OS from Google.
Recently, the device that will be launched with Android 13 is reported to use a technology from Huawei. This technology is a storage saving system called EROFS which is Enhanced Read-Only File System.
EROFS will offer a data compression system and allow files to be read at a faster rate. For that, Google will use this EROFS as a file system to read files on the storage section used by the Android system.
This file system can also only be used on Android 13 devices with GMS and cannot be used on devices running AOSP.
