Android 13 May Detect Snoring And Coughing While Users Are Sleeping

Since Digital Wellbeing was introduced on Android, it has become smarter and smarter in ensuring users won’t have any obsession with smartphone usage. It can also control the use of the device before the user goes to bed as well.

Latest in Android 13 via Google Health Studies, Google’s Health Sensinog team is developing a more in -depth tracking capability that uses algorithms to monitor users ’sleep activity.

This feature will use the device’s microphone to detect the user’s snoring and coughing. It’s a more similar feature available on the Fitbit Versa 3 and Fitbit Sense via Snore & Noise Detect as well as the latest generation Nest Hub that uses Soli sensors via Motion Sense.

With this capability, the user's personal device can be a tool to monitor the user's health during sleep. Of course it can also be synced on Google Fit. Just still not sure, if this feature requires a smartwatch like the upcoming Pixel Watch or Fitibit selected for more accurate data.
