Apacer And Zadak Showcase First PCIe 5.0 SSD Storage With Data Read Speed As Fast As 13GB/s

Support for PCIe 5.0 data transmission technology has been introduced since late last year with the 12th-generation Intel Alder Lake series of processing chips along with the Intel Z690 motherboard. Even so, SSD storage that can take advantage of such technology and data transmission speed is still not present in the market yet.

All that looks set to change as Apacer as well as Zadak, two companies known for their digital storage offerings have announced that their collaboration to develop PCIe 5.0 storage has paid off. Both brands are seen coming up with their own offerings, namely the Apacer AS2280F5 and Zadak TWSG5.

Details of storage options for this SSD are still unknown but according to these two companies, their PCIe 5.0 SSD storage has a data read rate as high as 13GB/s and data write as fast as 12GB/s.

Just like the previous PCie 4.0 SSD, this SSD offering from Apacer and Zadak will also come with a cooling block made of metal to cool the built-in storage chips.

For now, Apacer and Zadak have yet to announce the sale date and price tag of their SSDs.
