Bill Gates Reveals Reasons For Not Having Crypto Money

Bill Gates has long been known for not supporting cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and not owning them either. Now, he reveals why.

"I don't have any (crypto money). I like to invest in things that have a valuable output," he said in a question and answer forum on reddit.

In other words, Bill Gates doesn't think Bitcoin has a good value. He considers Bitcoin not a worthwhile investment.

"A company's value is based on how they make a good product. Crypto value is simply what one person decides that someone else will pay for, so it doesn't add value to society like other investments," said the Microsoft founder.

In the past, Bill Gates has often criticized cryptocurrencies. It was 2018. Bitcoin was already quite popular, but sometimes it was used for drug transactions. In addition, according to the founder of Microsoft, the anonymity of digital currency can be used by terrorists and money laundering.

"The main feature of cryptocurrencies is their anonymity. I don't think this is a good thing. At the moment, cryptocurrencies are used to buy fentanyl and other drugs so it's a rare technology that causes death in a fairly direct way," he was quoted as saying at the time. we're from the BBC.

In the same year, Bill Gates also commented negatively on cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin. In fact he was willing to bet that Bitcoin will not succeed.

"As an asset, Bitcoin produces nothing, and you shouldn't expect that the value of Bitcoin will continue to rise. This is like a really stupid theory in investing," he said.

Bill Gates is also not interested in having bitcoin. "Someone once gave me some Bitcoins as a birthday present, but I sold them a few years later," he added.
