British expert: If it fires nuclear, Russia will be finished

Russian officials began to frequently mention the use of nuclear weapons, including threats to be fired at the UK, which is keen to support Ukraine. Regarding this, an expert in the royal state gave Russia a warning.

As reported, Russia has threatened to deploy the Poseidon nuclear drone which it claims will drown Britain in a radioactive sea. Recently, Aleksey Zhuravlyov from the Russian defense committee said it could launch a Sarmat hypersonic missile at the United States or Britain.

"We can fire the Sarmat from Siberia and even reach the UK. If we launch it from Kaliningrad, the hypersonic speed is 200 seconds (to the UK)," he threatened.

Nile Gardiner, a former aide to PM Margaret Thatcher, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin actually knew the use of nuclear weapons would be catastrophic.

"The reality is Russia's use of nuclear weapons is Russia's end and they know that," he said.

"This has been known since World War II and every Russian leader since then understood that if Russia made the first move with nuclear fire, it was over for Russia," he said.

Britain itself is indeed one of the countries with nuclear power, although not as much as Russia. Neil claims Britain can face Russia alone without the need for help from other countries such as the United States.

"In fact, just by defending Britain alone, if Russia shoots at Britain (with nuclear weapons), it means the end of Russia," he added.

In terms of quantity, Russia has the most nuclear warheads, numbering 6,225, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. The United States is next with 5,550 nuclear warheads. As for the UK about 225 nuclear warheads.

One of Britain's mainstays is its combat submarines that carry nuclear warheads, such as the HMS Vanguard. The submarine carries the nuclear-capable Trident missile.

Such submarines are reportedly difficult to locate, so for example Russia attacks, Britain could retaliate by firing missiles from the submarine.

Since 1969, the British military has a policy of having at least one submarine with ballistic missiles on patrol at all times. This is done in case of a conflict involving nuclear.

Of course, with more nukes, Russia would inflict great damage on Britain in the event of a nuclear war. But Britain's response would still be devastating. Thus, it is predicted that nuclear countries will continue to refrain from deploying these weapons.
