Controversy Elon Musk Reveals Political Position After Buying Twitter

Elon Musk reveals his political position, even after buying Twitter. This step is considered very controversial.

Netizens are generally aware that Twitter has become a political battlefield in cyberspace. The Indonesian presidential election and the United States presidential election are proof that Twitter is a forum for twitwar for contesting presidential candidates.

When SpaceX CEO Elon Musk bought Twitter, the public asked about political neutrality and how the Blue Bird became the political space of the future. Furthermore, the public is asking what is Elon Musk's political affiliation?

Elon said Twitter should be a neutral place for politics. However, then Elon unequivocally revealed his political position on Twitter which then became a controversy.

Elon revealed that his political position is middle, slightly right. In the context of American politics, the right is the Republican Party and the left is the Democratic Party.

Elon said he used to be a supporter of the Democratic Party. He is a supporter of Barack Obama, but he thinks the Democratic Party has been hijacked by extremists.

Does that mean Elon is more supportive of Donald Trump? Elon Musk's tweet drew a strong reaction.

"Remind us who started the riots at the US Capitol," said US political analyst Brian Taylor Cohen.

Elon gets support from Billy Markus, the co-creator of Dogecoin. According to him, the Democratic Party 10 years ago was very progressive. But now in the Democrat Party there is an even tougher in politics.

Not only that, Republican supporters were enthusiastic. Not surprisingly, there are voices asking Elon Musk to recover Donald Trump's Twitter account which was frozen.

This controversy still has a long tail ahead. Elon has previously spoken about freedom of speech on Twitter and promised Twitter to be a politically neutral place. But with Elon revealing his political choices, can Twitter still be a neutral and balanced place?
