DeLorean Returns To The Automotive Arena With The Electric -Powered Alpha5 With No Over -Time Capability

The DMC DeLorean is an iconic car that is synonymous with the movie Back to The Future because it is used as a time -lapse machine. The company went bankrupt in 1982 due to financial problems caused by a car that was actually in trouble. Even so, the name of the company is still known to many until now.

Yesterday the DeLorean Alpha5 was featured as their return to the automotive arena. The Alpha5 does not come with a time -lapse feature but it is equipped with a fully electrical system. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 2.99 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

No information on the type of motor and its output has been announced but according to DeLorean, the Alpha5 can travel up to 482 km on a single charge via a 100 kWh battery. The vehicle retains its iconic seagull wing countertops open upwards but in terms of body design the Alpha5 is much more aerodynamic. The checkered DMC DeLorean body was replaced with a more modern corrugated body.

The vehicle will be officially launched next August with only 88 units to be produced. Alpha5 owners can also only use it on circuits as it cannot be used on open roads. The sale price has also not been announced.
