Google is now giving full focus to the messaging system they introduced, namely RCS. RCS is SMS for the new generation, where it is like an iMessage system but for all Android users. In fact, reactions to iMessage can also be received by Google Message users.
This RCS allows users to submit quality images and videos, share locations, easily share links, share Google Assistant results and more. For security and privacy, Google Message last year already encrypted users ’messages. During Google I/O 2022, Google vice chairman of product management Sameer Samat revealed that there are currently 500 million active RCS users.
Google also announced that end-to-end encryption or full encryption support will also be offered for messages in group chats on Google Message. Google also managed to deliver a message to Apple, to participate in using the RCS messaging system for security and safety.
