Google Docs Updated With Better Document Formatting Features

Google Docs is a free alternative to Microsoft Words software that can be easily accessed using a browser. Therefore in terms of features it is still behind what Words is capable of offering. This morning Google announced some new features that will be available to Docs users.

The first feature is that users can select more than one section of text to be formatted to a specific design. Windows users need to press Control to select more than one piece of text in Docs. Mac users need to press the Command button.

Next the user can change the same format on all parts of the text that use the same format. For example, the format for Header 1 that has been changed is then applied to other parts of the document that were also formatted to Header 1 previously. Features will be provided in stages over a 15-day period starting May 25th.
