The meeting of President Jokowi and Tesla CEO Elon Musk and the plan to open a factory have become discussions abroad. Indonesia has the opportunity to get Tesla and SpaceX at the same time.

TheStreet writes that Tesla has a need to increase production volume to 20 million units per year and secure raw materials for electric batteries. Tesla factory in Austin, Texas; Freemont, California; Berlin, Germany; and Shanghai, China, are considered insufficient to meet the production target.
In the first quarter of 2022, Elon said that he would announce the location of a new factory at the end of 2022. Then there was a meeting with President Jokowi on May 14, 2022 at Boca Chica, SpaceX's headquarters.
It is known, Indonesia's talks with Tesla have been from 2020. In which Indonesia is a country rich in nickel, but prohibits its exports. LG from Korea has now made lithium batteries in Indonesia with nickel as the raw material.
Tesla's deal with Indonesia could mean Elon Musk secures nickel and battery supplies for Tesla. On the other hand, there are also talks between Indonesia and SpaceX. Indonesia offers West Papua for SpaceX's new launch site.
TheStreet said, in the best case scenario, Indonesia could get both at once. The announcement seems to be made in conjunction with the agenda of the G20 meeting in Indonesia.
"If there is an agreement between Indonesia and Tesla and SpaceX, it can be signed in November because Indonesia will hold a B20 Summit with business leaders in mid-November, before the G20," wrote TheStreet.
