After being introduced at CES 2022, Intel finally brought the 12th generation Core processors to the market. This latest generation of processors will debut in 30 new laptops from six leading vendors.
The 12th generation Intel Core is the first processor based on Intel 7 process technology and uses a hybrid performance architecture.
It is based on a hybrid architecture platform that combines the P-core which is the performance core and the E-core as the efficiency core.
The 12th generation Intel Core family consists of four series. There are the U and P series for thin and light laptops, the H series for high-performance laptops, and the HX series for mobile workstations and gaming laptops.
The number of cores that each model carries is different. For example, Core i9-12950HX which is the highest performing variant has 16 cores consisting of 8 P-cores and 8 E-cores.
The Core i9-12950HX is Intel's flagship in this generation of processors. The single thread performance of this processor is claimed to be 17% higher than the previous generation, and its multi thread performance is 64% higher.
The 12th generation Intel Core also relies on Intel Thread Director technology. This technology is embedded directly in the hardware and can activate the cores needed according to their work.
It is a new technology that we bring where PC can intelligently schedule based on the guidance given to OS to select the appropriate core, to select the P-core or to select the E-core, at the right time, for the appropriate task to provide a great experience. best.
