At this iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 are provided by Apple on all supported devices. The download size is only around 674 MB with it bringing some new features not offered before.
The most important update for parents is to enable the feature to filter pornographic images received on children’s Apple devices through the messaging app. When an image is detected it is blurred with a warning given. However this useful feature is only offered in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the United States at this time.
Recipients are also given a link to get help when receiving a message like this. In addition updates are also given to the Apple Podcast app which deletes old episodes that have been listened to and limits the number of episodes that can be downloaded. Several security patches and system improvements are also provided with iOS 15.5.
