According to Intel data, in 2021 43% of people use PCs every day, up twice as much as in 2019. The average duration of daily PC use also increased, from 4.91 hours in 2019 to 6.39 hours in 2021.
Thanks to this lifestyle shift, Intel is seeing an increase in PC penetration to 40%. Interestingly, more and more PCs are being sold as devices in the premium segment.
We used to see it as a low-end computing market. That has changed.
43% of devices sold now are premium devices. That number has increased significantly from previous years over the last four years.
If previously consumers bought more PCs with Pentium and Celeron processors, now consumers are starting to look at devices with Intel Core i3 and i5 processors.
