As reported yesterday, now officially Meta has announced Instagram will start testing NFT integration starting this week on a limited basis.
According to Mark Zuckerberg, starting this week they will begin testing the integration of digital collections on Instagram - allowing users to display NFT collections on profiles. The same feature is also expected to come to Facebook soon.
Moving forward, Mark Zuckerberg also said NFT will also be expanded to include augmented reality on Instagram Stories - allowing you to place digital works in physical locations.
With this move, it allows users to display their digital collections that are synonymous with digital artwork today.
For an early stage, Instagram will support NFT blockchain on Ethereum and Polygon. It will also include Rainbow wallet integration, Trust Wallet and even MetaMask. For now as well, there will be no charges for sharing NFT on Instagram.
With this introduction, will we see NFT receive more widespread demand than ever before?
