Children are scared of dentists because the sound of a drilling machine touching their teeth is annoying. Therefore dentists need to be smart to reduce children’s anxiety and this can only be done with complete training. But it is difficult to gather experience managing children because of the risks involved. The Pedia_Roid robot was developed by an inclusive firm specifically for this purpose.
Pedia_Roid can be instructed to thrash and not provide cooperation while on the dentist’s chair. In addition, it can also move the jaw to resist attempts to see the oral cavity, act like a seizure, bleed and enlarged pupils due to mistakes when applying anesthesia.
With all of these features, dentists can train their level of preparedness to deal with emergency situations involving pediatric patients. This robot does look a bit scary but enough training can save lives when it happens in real situations later.
